John Tavares made his NHL debut against the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, on October 3, 2009 at Nassau Coliseum. Tavares scored his first career NHL goal and recorded his first career assist in his first ever professional game. Presented is Tavares’ first NHL game-used jersey. Inside the rear tail is an Islanders team tag reading “Gameworn Jersey Program 2009-2010 Season”. Attached inside below the collar is a size “56” tag. Across the front of this tie-down jersey is the Islanders team logo crest. The player number “91” is on both sleeves and the back. Across the back on a blue nameplate is the player name “TAVARES”. All numbering and lettering is done in white on orange tackle twill. The fight strap is intact. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA and an Islanders LOA.
