Handwritten on the ball in period faded ink is “WORLD SERIES 1924” “”PEP” YOUNG BATTED THIS BALL INTO THE BLEACHERS ON THIS DATE OCT. 4 1924 DURING BATTING PRACTICE OF THE NEW YORK GIANTS AT CLARK GRIFFITH STADIUM WASHINGTON, D.C.”. There are additional notations that have faded and are illegible. The ball has aging condition issues, spotting and is heavily toned with part of it deteriorating.
