In 1928 Hamilton introduced the world's first fashion watch, the "Piping Rock." The art deco style timepiece became the official watch of the World Champion New York Yankees, which the team gave out to its players and coaches as a Championship gift. In more modern times, Hamilton reissued the original mechanical watch in a limited edition as a battery version, and this is a pristine example. The gray face reads "Hamilton" and "Swiss" with second hand dial, roman numeral bezel. Black leather Hamilton band, the round back of the watch is a rendition of a baseball engraved with the American League eagle and "Yankees, 1928 World Champions." On the back corners is stamped "18K Gold, Electroplate, Stainless Steel Back." In MINT condition with original box.
