Excluding All-Star events, we believe that a meeting of the 1928 New York Yankees and Philadelphia Athletics would result in the greatest population of future Hall of Famers ever to share a single playing field. “REACH” manufactured OAL Johnson baseball. The ball has been signed by 19 players from the 1928 New York Yankees and Philadelphia Athletics. Notable signatures include Hall of Famers Babe Ruth (1928 AL Home Run & RBI Leader), Lou Gehrig (1928 AL RBI Leader), Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Lefty Grove (1928 AL Wins & Strikeout Leader), Mickey Cochrane (1928 AL MVP), Earle Combs, Herb Pennock, Waite Hoyt, Eddie Collins, Al Simmons and Jimmie Foxx. Additional signatures include Wilcy Moore, Mark Koenig (x2), Johnny Grabowski, Joe Dugan, Bob Meusel and Edmund “Bing” Miller. All the signatures are done in the same period black fountain ink and in our opinion rate from a 5 to 7 overall with the Ruth being a 2 due to heavy fading. The ball is in GOOD condition overall.
