This award was created for Ruth posthumously during the 1960s while Cronin and Giles served concurrently as American League and National League Presidents. The award reads, “200 HOME RUN - CLUB - THE AMERICAN AND NATIONAL LEAGUES - OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL - certify that Babe Ruth - of The New York Yankees - hit the 200th Home Run of his Major League Career - at Navin Field, Detroit - on May 12, 1923 to become - the First player in history to achieve this distinction.”. Cronin and Giles each signed the bottom of the award in pen and in our opinion, rates a 9 overall. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.

The first three lots presented in this catalog are consigned to us by a collector who has had these treasures for over 30 years. They were all originally sourced in the late 1970's from a gentleman who was close personal friends with the Ruth family and a higher-up in the Babe Ruth Baseball Little League organization.
