Nicknamed "Mr. Cub", Ernie Banks was the most popular Chicago Cub in franchise history. He led the league in home runs and RBI’s twice while winning two MVP awards in 1958 and 1959. He was elected to 11 All-Star games and voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977. Hillerich & Bradsby manufactured M159 model bat that measures 35 inches and weighs 29.8 ounces. The ash wood bat is uncracked and shows excellent use with several ball marks throughout the barrel. The model number is stamped into the knob. The player number “14” is written on the knob and top barrel. On the front barrel is the model number. This barrel marking is commonly referred to as a “Yosh Mark” for the equipment manager. Yosh marks can be seen on the knob, center brand and top of the barrel. Banks signed the barrel in black marker with the added inscription “Mr Cub” and in our opinion rates a 9. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA grading the bat a perfect GU 10 and a Full LOA from JSA.
