NY Yankee No. 7 Mickey Mantle, "The Commerce Comet," hit 536 homers in a HOF career that spanned 17 years. One of the most popular Yankees to this day, he led the league in home runs four times, was a three time MVP, 15 time All Star and had 18 World Series HRs. The first power hitting switch hitter, the "Mick" was named after HOF (1947) A's catcher Mickey Cochrane. Manuf: H&B, Model: K55, Length: 34.5 in, Weight: 32.6 oz, Wood: Ash, Condition: Uncracked with stitch marks deeply embedded. Cleat marks and rack streaks are present. The model number is stamped into the knob end. This is a team index bat. Louisville Slugger factory records indicate that Mickey never ordered a K55 model in the 34.5 inch length. Mantle did order a 34 inch bat in 1968 but in a weight far lighter than what this bat weighs in at. Therefore, this bat is a team index bat ordered by the Yankees. It exhibits heavy use with ball marks present on all sides of the barrel, especially evident on the top barrel. Accompanied by a LOA from MEARS as well as a LOA from PSA/DNA.
