Offered here is the replacement for the Gold Glove Award presented to Joe Pepitone in 1965. The award stands 16” tall and weighs 9.5 lbs. The award prominently displays a gold-colored Rawlings first baseman glove. The three-tiered wooden base measures approximately 17-½” x 6-¾” x 6-½”. Two brass plaques are affixed to the wooden base, the lower plaque reads “1965 RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD - Presented To - JOE PEPITONE - Honoring His Selection As THE FINEST IN THE FIELD!”, the upper plaque reads “RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD”. Adjacent to the left and right of the glove are two gold-tinted Rawlings baseballs sitting inside three-pronged holders. We were told by our consignor that this replacement trophy was purchased directly from Joe Pepitone himself and has been in a private collection until now. The award is in MINT condition.
