These cufflinks were distributed by longtime Mets sponsor, Rheingold Beer, to commemorate the team’s 1969 World Series victory, the franchise’s first Championship. Each cufflink has a unique design, the first features a calendar from October of 1969 with a small red stone in place of the 16th of October, the date in which the Mets defeated the Baltimore Orioles in Game 5 to win the ‘69 Fall Classic. The second cufflink reads “METS 69 CHAMPS” and features a beer barrel design in relief and along with the scores for the Mets four wins in the Series: “4-1”, “2-1”, “5-0” and “5-3”. The face of each cufflink measures approximately 13/16" x 5/8", each has "14KJK" stamped into their verso. The cufflinks are in EX condition with some discoloration present on the “barrel”.
