Pete Maravich may have been the greatest college basketball player never to play in the NCAA tournament. Maravich headed to New York for the 1970 National Invitation Tournament after winning Player of the Year honors with a 44.5 points per game scoring average. In the semifinals, Maravich's Louisiana State University team was defeated by eventual NIT victor Marquette after Pete was slowed by an ankle injury he suffered against Oklahoma. This program is from the March 19, 1970 LSU-Marquette semifinal, Pete Maravich's last game as a college player because his injury kept him out of the LSU-Army consolation game. The program grades near mint and has a page dedicated to LSU which includes two pictures of Maravich. It comes with a copy of the New York Times articles on the LSU semifinal and consolation games.
