Bill Melchionni jumped to the upstart ABA after a successful NBA career, becoming a key cog with the New York Nets. He played alongside Rick Barry, and later mentored a young Julius Erving. Melchionni led the ABA in assists per game in both 1971 and 1972. On the front left tail is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “42” with washing instructions. Attached is a tag that is partially detached with an outline remaining. Across the front reads “NETS”. The player number “25” appears below and on the back and across the back reads the player name “MELCHIONNI”. All numbering and lettering is done in red tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a PM&G LOA grading the jersey a perfect 10 and a Melchionni LOA.
