Muhammad Ali went toe to toe against little known Joe Bugner for the first time on Feb. 14, 1973. Bugner gave Ali all he could handle, but came up on the short side of a 12-round decision. The two squared off again in Kuala Lumpur on June 30, 1975. Having learned firsthand about his opponent's desire, heart and ability to take a punch the first time around, Ali brought a renewed spirit into the second bout. Bugner, did the same, entering the fight fully expecting to leave with the WBC belt around his waist. The Hungarian born strong man went blow for blow with Ali for a grueling 15 rounds as the duo waged an epic war. In the end though, Bugner once again failed to win over the judges. One person he did win over, though, was Ali. Offered here is a rare opportunity to own the trunks Ali wore during this 1975 Heavyweight Championship fight with Bugner. The Everlast trunks are white satin with black trim on each leg and at the center waistband, where the manufacturer label sits. Under the name "Everlast" on the label there is also written, "Made Expressly For Muhammad Ali." The trunks show great use and were given by Ali to one of his corner men, Walter Youngblood (Wali Muhammad), following the fight. He kept solely in his possession until now. The trunks come with a COA from Wali Muhammad.
