Brooks Robinson, or “The Human Vacuum Cleaner” was one of, if not the best defensive third baseman in MLB history. Robinson won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, tied for the second-most all-time at any position. Robinson is a two-time World Series champion, an American League MVP and World Series MVP, has his No. 5 retired by the Baltimore Orioles franchise and was named to the MLB’s All-Century Team. In 1983, Robinson was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot. On the inside of the front right tail is a “Rawlings” size “42” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached adjacent is a flag tag that reads, “SET 1 1977”. Across the chest reads “Orioles”, the player number “5” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “ROBINSON” on an off-white nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in orange on black tackle twill. Robinson signed the front of the jersey in blue pen with the added inscription, “HOF 83” and in our opinion rates an 8-9 overall. This jersey was Photo-Matched to an Old Timers event in 1990 at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. The plausible explanation for this is the team kept the shirt and reissued it to Brooks for the event. For the club to keep the jersey and wait to reissue it for this moment, speaks to it's authenticity and lineage. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA and an additional LOA.
