Late Hall of Famer Willie McCovey belted 521 home runs and collected more than 2,200 hits during his 22-year career. He led the National League in homers three times and twice in RBIs, as well as pacing the circuit in slugging percentage for three consecutive years (1968-70). McCovey earned National League MVP honors in 1969, ten years after earning National League Rookie of the Year in 1959. McCovey was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 1986 and has his number 44 retired by the San Francisco Giants. Inside the rear neck is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. On the front left tail is a black strip tag reading “44 80” embroidered in orange chain stitching. Across the chest reads “Giants”. Adjacent below and on the back is the player number “44”. Across the back on a black nameplate is the player name “McCOVEY”. All numbering and lettering is done in the same orange on white tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a LOA from Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match and grading the jersey a perfect 10.
