Earvin “Magic” Johnson spent all 13 seasons as a Los Angeles Laker and was selected to 12 All-Star games in his career. He was also a 5-time NBA Champion, 3-time NBA Finals MVP, 3-time NBA MVP and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. On the front left tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with size “42”. On the right inseam is the “100% NYLON” tag with wash instructions. Across the front reads “WEST ALL STARS” screenprinted in red and blue. On the front and on back is the player number “32”. Across the back is the player name “JOHNSON”. All are done in the same navy blue screenprint. Johnson has signed the back of the jersey in black marker with the added inscriptions “#32” and “Best Wishes”, in our opinion the signature rates a strong 7. This jersey was sourced from Sally Simonds, the Kings Director of Marketing, as a game-used 1984 All-Star jersey. The configuration of the star pattern more closely resembles what Magic wore in the 1983 All-Star game. In that game, Magic wore “M. JOHNSON” on the back due to the fact that him and his teammate Dennis Johnson shared the same last name. The jersey is sans extra length and was most likely produced for promotional purposes, making it a great display. Accompanied by a LOA from Sally Simonds.
