After being drafted, Brian Bosworth sued the NFL for the right to wear number 44 (the number he wore in college) and the Seahawks petitioned for a rules change, due to an NFL rule against linebackers wearing jerseys in the 40s, but were unsuccessful. Bosworth ultimately chose to wear number 55. In 2015, The NFL Competition Committee passed the "Brian Bosworth" rule allowing linebackers to wear jersey numbers in the 40s for the first time. The reason given for the change was the shortage of available numbers for linebackers. On the front left tail is the Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag size “48”. Adjacent above is the Sand-Knit “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS” tag and adjacent to the side is a box tag reading the year “87”. The jersey features custom eyelets down the sides. Across the front and back is the player number “44” painted in white. The player number also appears on both shoulders and across the back is the player name “BOSWORTH” all in white vinyl. Bosworth signed both the front and back of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion rate a combined near 8. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
