Wade Boggs is a World Series champion and a first ballot National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee in 2005. Known to be a prolific hitter, Boggs was a five-time American League batting champion and was a 12-time All-Star. On the front left tail is a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached below is a flag tag with “BX” on it and adjacent is a flag tag with the size “42” on it. Below is a white swatch with the year “89” embroidered on it in navy blue stitching. Across the chest reads, “RED SOX” and on the back is the player number “26”. All numbering and lettering are done in red on navy blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the white jersey. On the inside of the rear waistline is a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached below are two flag tags that read, “BX” and “33” respectively. According to the Wilson codes, this uniform was manufactured in October of 1989 and the Red Sox season ended on October first. This was possibly worn during Spring Training the following season. Adjacent is a white strip tag with “26 25” embroidered on it and a white swatch with “89” embroidered on it. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-issued.
