College basketball Hall of Famer and Future NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal was a dominating force at LSU playing under College Hall of Fame coach Dale Brown. Together they would bring the LSU basketball program to new heights. With 3 seasons under Coach Brown, O’Neal was a 2-time All American, 2-time SEC Player of the Year and he received the Adolph Rupp Trophy in 1991 as the NCAA’s men’s basketball player of the year. The Tigers would eventually fall to the second-ranked Indiana Hoosiers despite a 36-point effort by O'Neal in the second round of the 1992 NCAA Tournament. Shaq, a 50 percent free-throw shooter during the season, was 12-for-12 from the foul line and had four three-point plays for LSU. It wasn't known at the time if it would be his last collegiate game, but after much deliberation O’Neal would declare for the NBA Draft where he was selected with the first overall pick by the Orlando Magic. On the inner rear collar of the top is the “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” manufacturer’s tag with size “48”, the player number “33” written in black marker, “100% NYLON” and wash instructions. Adjacent to the left is another tag reading “2” Extra Body AND Sleeve Length”. On the left chest is the LSU “Tiger” logo. Across the back reads “LSU”. All lettering and numbering is done in the same yellow and white screenprint. On the right sleeve is the Russell “R” embroidered in red, white and blue. On the inner rear inseam is the “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”, “100% NYLON” and wash instructions. Adjacent below is another tag reading “39” Inseam”. The warm-up suit is properly tagged, was presented to us as worn and in our opinion shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from Coach Dale Brown.
