After exerting their dominance in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, some of the original “Dream Team” members returned to international competition for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Karl Malone was one of the five returning players and the Americans won another gold medal with an average margin of victory of 31.8 points per game to become one of the most dominant, overlooked international basketball teams ever assembled. LA Gear manufactured white sneakers with red and navy blue trim. On the heel of each sneaker is an “LA Gear” logo. Adjacent reads, “MAILMAN” with the player number “11” below. These are embroidered in navy blue stitching. Malone signed the outside ankle area of each sneaker in blue pen with the added inscription, “To Scott, #11 USA” and in our opinion rates a 6 overall. These sneakers are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion show appropriate wear. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
