Hockey Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux was immediately inducted after his first retirement in 1997, waiving the normal three-year waiting period and in 2017 was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players. Lemieux had one of his best seasons in 1995-96, scoring 69 goals and adding 92 assists. Lemieux went on to win the Hart, Pearson and Ross Trophies. This black jersey has been photo-matched to multiple games. Attached inside the rear collar is the Maska manufacturer’s tag with the year “95-96” handwritten on it in black marker. Adjacent is a flag tag reading the size “56”. Diagonally across the front of the jersey reads “PITTSBURGH” in yellow on black on white tackle twill. On the upper left chest is the Captain’s “C” logo in yellow white tackle twill. The player number “66” appears on both sleeves and on back and across the back on a black nameplate is the player name “LEMIEUX”. These all are done in yellow on white tackle twill. On both shoulders is a Penguins team logo embroidered. On the rear right tail is a “CCM” logo and an official “NHL” logo embroidered. Multiple board burns and hit marks are seen throughout especially on the elbows, tails and back player numbers. The fight strap is intact. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a MeiGray LOA and a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the matches.
