John Elway is the only player in NFL history to pass for more than 3,000 yards and rush for more than 200 yards in the same season seven consecutive times. He was only the second quarterback in NFL history to record more than 40,000 yards passing and 3,000 yards rushing during his career. At the time of his retirement, he ranked second all-time in three of the game’s most significant passing categories: passing yards, attempts, and completions. Elway was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. On the front left tail is the “NIKE” manufacturer’s tag with a flag tag reading “48”. Below the inner rear collar is a white strip tag reading “96-48” in black. On the v-neck is the official “NFL” shield logo embroidered. Across the front, on the back and on each sleeve is the player number “7”. Across the back is the player name “ELWAY” on an orange nameplate. All lettering and numbering is done in the same white on blue tackle twill. This is the only year the Broncos wore these sewn on orange crush style twill numbers as they transitioned to a new style in 1997. There is a small unrepaired hole on the right sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
