The "Sultan of Swat" will forever be remembered as the King of the Home Run. When he became the first player to hit 700 career homers, no one else had hit 300 for their entire career! He hit the most career homers for the same American League team (Yankees) by belting 659 of them while in New York. Ruth cleared the bases once in every 11.76 plate appearances, far ahead of runner-up Ralph Kiner's one home run per 14.11 appearances. No matter how many home runs were or will be hit by those who came after him, Ruth will always be a true American original. This W.A. Holt Official League baseball has been signed in black fountain pen on the sweet spot by Babe Ruth. The ball shows toning, some small abrasion and some areas of spotting which do not affect the signature. There is a small smudge or ink mark at the top of the "b" in "Babe." Signature grades an overall 7. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA.
