In Game 4 of the 1926 Fall Classic, Ruth became the first player in World Series history to hit three home runs in a game. It was the first time that Ruth had ever blasted three homers in a game, but it wouldn’t be the last. Almost two years to the day of the first three homer game, Ruth belted another three home runs in Game 4 of the 1928 World Series. Ruth’s record of three home runs in a World Series game was unmatched for nearly fifty years until fellow Yankee Reggie Jackson’s “Mr. October” performance in the 1977 Series. The Babe accomplished the feat two more times in his legendary career, but never again in a postseason game. These two game ticket stubs originate from Babe Ruth’s three-home-run performances in the Game 4 of the 1926 and 1928 World Series. The 1926 stub measures 4-5/16” x 2” and has a face value of “$5.50” for “SEC. C - ROW 4 - SEAT 12”. The 1928 stub also measures 4-5/16” x 2” and has a face value of “$5.50” for “SEC. C - ROW 2 - SEAT 8”. Both Lower Deck Reserved Seating “Old Stand” tickets are in VG-EX condition. Scored program from the May 21, 1932 game between the Washington Senators and the New York Yankees. The program is scored in pencil, Ruth hit two home runs on the day, career homers #620 and 621. Ruth’s first was a grand slam in the 5th inning and he followed it up with a two-run shot in the sixth; Yankees win 14-2. The program measures 6-5/8” x 9-7/8” and is in VG condition. Also included in the lot is a sepia-toned snapshot of Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium in what appears to be batting practice as the stands are completely empty. “Babe Ruth R.F. Yankees 1926” is written on the bank of the photo in pencil along with “317” stamped in blue. The photo measures 3-½” x 5-¾” and is in EX condition.
