Class of 1966 - Coach Everett Dean began at Indiana in 1924, and won 163 games and three Big Ten titles in 14 years. He then coached Stanford for 11 seasons, where he went 167-120 and won the 1942 NCAA Championship. Joe Lapchick was basketball's first mobile big man, the key player on the great Original Celtics teams of the 1920s. He went on to lead the Cleveland Rosenblums to ABL Championships in 1928 and 1929. Lapchick later became a great coach, at St. John's and with the New York Knicks. Class of 1968 - Clair Bee was a New York coaching icon, guiding Long Island University for 18 years. At LIU, Bee compiled 359 wins including a 43-game win streak, two undefeated seasons and won NIT titles in 1939 and 1941. He developed the 1-3-1 zone defense, and was the author of the "Chip Hilton" athletic book series. Howard Cann won 409 wins in 35 seasons at New York University, including an undefeated season in 1933-34. The 1947 National Coach of the Year, his teams went to the NCAA Finals in 1945 and NIT Finals in 1948. One of the first great West Coast coaches, Amory Gill won 599 games and five Pacific Coast Championships in 36 seasons at Oregon State. He guided his teams to the NCAA Final Four in both 1949 and 1963. All are Silver Relief medallions. Dean, Bee and Gill are in NM condition. Lapchick is in very good condition; slight scratch on cheek. Cann is in fair to good condition; scratch on chin and lower lip, tip of nose very worn and chipped.
