Perhaps no single player is more closely tied to the Boston Red Sox franchise than Ted Williams. As a rookie in 1939, he joined a Boston club fresh off a second place finish in the American League and starred alongside a prodigious offensive power in teammate Jimmie Foxx. Over the three seasons during which the two future Hall of Famers played together, they combined for 181 home runs and an incredible 707 RBI. Eventually they would become the only teammates of the era to reach the coveted 500 home run milestone. The offered official American League Harridge ball signed by Williams and Foxx is a remarkable relic of their combined power and prestige. Signed by the two stars in blue ink and dating to circa 1940, the ball can ideally be displayed as either a Foxx or Williams single as both players have beautifully and boldly scripted their names on individual side panels and in our opinion rate a combined 8. Williams has added the inscription "To Billy Rose/good luck" above his signature. Rose was a major entertainer from the 1920s to 1940s, writing and producing songs and shows. An extremely desirable dual-signed ball dating from their active playing careers. The ball displays moderate abrasions, and the manufacturing stampings are almost completely faded. In Very Good condition overall. Accompanied by a Full JSA LOA.
