During his 22-year playing career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Stan "The Man" was a 24-time All-Star, three-time World Series Champion, three time MVP and a seven-time NL batting champion. He retired after the 1963 season with a career batting average of .331 and solidified his place as one of the game's greatest hitters. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. This Hillerich & Bradsby bat dates to Musial’s rookie era and measures 34.5 inches and weighs 32 ounces. The ash wood bat with a standard finish shows outstanding use with a chipped knob that has been repaired. Ball and cleat marks are visible on the barrel. Fellow Cardinals Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby signed the barrel as well as Musial in black marker and in our opinion the Musial signature rates a 9 and the Hornsby a 7. A light coating of shellac is on the Hornsby signature for protection. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA grading the bat a GU 9 and a JSA LOA.
