During his 22-year playing career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Stan "The Man" was a 24-time All-Star, three-time World Series Champion, three time NL MVP and a seven-time NL batting champion. He retired after the 1963 season with a career batting average of .331 and solidified his place as one of the game's greatest hitters. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. “Stan the Man” bats were marketed with Musial beginning in the early 1960s, circa 1962-63. The bats were mainly sold at the retail level with a few bats being used by Musial himself at the Major League level. Manuf: Stan the Man, Model Number: 100, Length: 34.5 in., Weight: 32.3 oz., Wood: Ash, Labeling Period: Circa 1963, Condition: Uncracked with some flaking to the finish. Several ball marks are visible on the right, front and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are red bat rack streaks. Musial’s number “6” is written on the knob in black marker along with the weight “33” noted in pencil. The bat exhibits evidence of excellent game-use. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA grading the bat an 8. Further accompanied by several photos of Musial with “Stan the Man” bats, one showing definite use.
