In Game seven of the 1974 NBA Finals, Dave Cowens scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to power the Celtics to the NBA Championship over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the Milwaukee Bucks. As a 6'9" center, Cowens more than made up for his lack of height with his drive, determination and work ethic. His 11-year NBA career included seven NBA All-Star Games, 1973 league and All-Star Game MVP honors, and two NBA Championships with the Boston Celtics (1974 and 1976). Dave was an All-American at Florida State and was named NBA Co-Rookie of the Year in 1971. Cowens retired after the 1979-80 season, however he returned in 1982-83 to play 40 games with the Milwaukee Bucks before retiring for good. During his 11 seasons, Cowens scored 13,516 points and pulled down 10,444 career rebounds. In 1996, Cowens was among the elite members named as one of the NBA's 50 greatest players. He was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991. On the left front tail is the "Medalist Sand-Knit Boston Celtics" manufacturer's tag. Below that is an additional "Medalist Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with the jersey size "46" and wash instructions on it. Across the front of the jersey is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "18." Across the back is "COWENS." All lettering and numbering is done in green tackle twill. The jersey shows excellent game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
