According to the Kupp Estate LOA, this vintage boy’s sailor suit was production-worn by George “Spanky” McFarland during the shooting of the “Our Gang” shorts, which he became most noted for in the 1930s and 1940s. The LOA describes how this suit came into our consignor’s possession. On the inside of the shirt below the rear collar is a “R.H. Macy & Co.” manufacturer’s tag. Below stamped in red reads, “HAL ROACH STUDIOS”. Written in pen below reads, “SPANKY 114-2”. This suit was presented to us as production-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by the aforementioned Kupp Estate LOA.
