Early Wynn came into his own after being traded to the Indians, and by 1951 had his first 20-win season. He went on to chalk up exactly 300 victories and 2334 strikeouts on his way to the Hall of Fame in 1972. This cream colored Reach OAL Harridge baseball shows even overall toning, with the Harridge and Reach stamped panels having faded. Wynn signed "Early Wynn Jr." on the sweet spot and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. Babe Ruth has signed the side panel in blue pen and in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. The ball was first signed by Early Wynn circa 1946-1947 while with the Washington Senators. The ball was given to our consignor's mother by Wynn himself, who was a classmate of hers. On March 17, 1948, Babe Ruth was on tour and stopped by a Sanford, Florida youth baseball game in which our consignor was competing in. Upon seeing the Wynn ball, Ruth commented that Wynn "was going to be a very good pitcher," and proceeded to sign the ball himself. Two tremendous all-time great Hall of Famers on this ball. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the baseball and the seal is intact. Accompanied by a full LOA from JSA and a PSA/DNA LOA. Tremendous opportunity to own this rare signed baseball with two legendary Hall of Famers and great provenance.
