An All-America at Ohio State, John Havlicek won an NCAA title with the Buckeyes in 1960. Drafted in both the NBA and NFL, he began his career with the Boston Celtics after being cut during the Cleveland Browns training camp. "Hondo" helped the Celtics to four straight (1963-66) and eight NBA championships overall. He was the first Celtic player to score 1,000 points in 16 consecutive seasons. Havlicek was named NBA Finals MVP in 1974, and was selected to All-NBA teams 11 times. He appeared in 13 NBA All-Star Games. When he retired in 1978, he had scored 26,395 points in 1,270 games. Havlicek still ranks in the top-ten in NBA career points scored and minutes played. He was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996. Silver Relief medallion.
