Hall of Famer Vern Mikkelsen played his entire ten year career for the Minneapolis Lakers. The Lakers won four NBA titles during Mikkelsen's career while he played in six NBA All-Star Games and was named to the All-NBA Second Team four times. Mikkelsen ended his career having played in 798 of a possible 800 games. He finished his career with 10,063 points scored. Vern told us he wore this jersey under his clothes during the 2002 NBA Finals as good luck for his Lakers. Inside the rear collar of this durene jersey is the “Lowe & Campbell” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “44”. Across the front is “LAKERS”. The “A” has been reinforced. Player number “19” appears on both the front and back. All numbers and letters are done in light blue on yellow satin. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from Vern Mikkelsen. Other than what is mentioned there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.

Lots 15–21 presented in this auction catalog are consigned to us directly from Minneapolis Lakers All-Time Great & NBA Hall of Famer Vern Mikkelsen. These treasures are absolutely fantastic and truly represent what the game of basketball used to be. Vern and his family have been a pleasure to work with and we are honored to present his personal collection at this year’s Hall of Fame Induction Auction.
