Walter “Big Train” Johnson is one of the most celebrated and dominating players in baseball history. Johnson established several pitching records, some of which remain unbroken nine decades after retiring from baseball. He remains by far the all-time career leader in shutouts with 110, second in wins with 417, and fourth in complete games with 531. He held the career record in strikeouts for nearly 56 years, with 3,508. In 1936, Johnson was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members. Offered is the only known authenticated bat signed by Johnson. The 33 inch Louisville Slugger Lou Gehrig signature model bat is signed by Johnson on the barrel in black steel-tip fountain pen and in our opinion the signature rates a 6. There is a foreign substance on the top, bottom, and back barrel that does not interfere with the signature. Truly a one of a kind piece of baseball history. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA.
