First ballot Hall of Famer and Yankee Captain Derek Jeter wore this jersey during Game One of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers. Jeter broke his left ankle in the 12th inning while fielding a ground ball and falling over in pain. The Captain would be helped off the field and miss the remainder of the Postseason. This jersey shows a tremendous amount of dirt staining throughout the front and back as The Yankee Captain laid down on the infield dirt in agony before being helped off. On the front left tail is the Majestic manufacturer’s tag with a MLB hologram serial number “EK342001” and Steiner hologram serial number “199890”. Attached are two flag tags reading the size “48” and year “2012”. Below is a Yankees barcode tag. On the left chest is the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo and on the back is the player number “2”. All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA.
