The 1927 New York Yankees posted a 110-44 regular season record en route to sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series. The 110 wins broke the previous American League record set by the 1912 Boston Red Sox. The 1927 Yankees batted .307 and outscored their opponents by a record 376 runs. Earle Combs hit .356, Bob Meusel batted .337 with 103 RBI and second baseman Tony Lazzeri drove in 102 runs. Gehrig batted .373 with 47 home runs, a then record 175 RBIs and was voted AL MVP. Ruth finished with a .356 batting average, 164 RBIs and hit 60 home runs, breaking his own record. The team was famously labeled “Murderers’ Row”. 10” x 8” sepia photo of Earle Combs, Mark Koenig, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ben Paschal, Tony Lazzeri, Ray Morehart (ch) and Pat Collins. Each of these players signed on the photo where they are standing in black fountain ink and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall with the Ruth signature being the boldest of the group. Below where the players stand in the photo, are signatures from the rest of the members of the team: John Grabowski, Herb Pennock, Bob Shawkey, Bob Meusel, Urban Shocker, Dutch Ruether, Joe Dugan, Benny Bengough and Waite Hoyt (ch). The two clubhouse signatures, Morehart and Hoyt were penned by Yankees catcher Pat Collins. PSA/DNA was unable to authenticate the signatures on the photo. Accompanied by an Full LOA from JSA.
