On October 1, 1932, Babe Ruth stepped up to the plate at Chicago's Wrigley Field. It was Game 3 of the World Series and pitcher Charlie Root had already given up one home run to the Babe, though he now had two strikes on him. Always one to put on a show, Ruth, as legend has it, gestured toward centerfield and then hit the next pitch he saw right over that outfield wall. The pictured ticket stub is from that very game and has survived the past 70+ years without suffering any major damage. It is in excellent condition showing a very slight tone due to age and only the slightest hint of a few surface creases. There is slight paper loss on the back along the perforated edge; however, this is not visible when the ticket stub is viewed from the front.
