Kiki Cuyler broke into the big leagues in 1921. Over the next decade and a half, Cuyler established a reputation as an outstanding hitter with great speed. He regularly batted .350 or higher and finished with a .321 lifetime batting average. In 1925 Cuyler combined this great hitting with 18 home runs and 102 RBI. Cuyler led the league in stolen bases four times and finished his career with 328 steals. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1968. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson-Western” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is the size “44” label. The wash instructions label is no longer present. On the left front tail is player name “Cuyler” and year “33” embroidered in navy blue chain stitch. Across the front is “Chicago” embroidered in blue chain stitch with a lavender chain stitch embroidered border. Player number “3’ appears on back in blue felt. There are four buttons replaced on front. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. This is the only Cuyler jersey known to us in the hobby and a very rare style as well.

We have known of the existence of this very shirt for over two decades; it was originally sold to our consignor over 20 years ago. At that time, Grey Flannel's Richard Russek & Alan "Mr. Mint" Rosen were both fighting to secure the shirt. At the time of its first appearance in the hobby there was believed to be a chain of custody originally from the Cuyler family. This is the only jersey of Hall of Famer Hazen "Kiki" Cuyler known to us in the hobby.
