Twenty game-used baseballs from the 1958 Yankees season from games that Bob Turley won. Turley won 21 games and won the Cy Young award. The Yankees also won the championship, and Turley was awarded the World Series MVP. Some examples of baseball’s in this lot include: “Beat Washington 3 To 0 5 Hitter May 18, 1958”, “Beat Chicago 6 To 3 – 6 Hitter Aug 21st 1958 18th Win”, “Beat Cleveland 11 to 3 7 Hits - July 11th 1958”, Beat Washington 2 To 1 – 3 Hitter – July 4th 1958”, “Beat Baltimore 7 To 0 – 4 Hitter – April 20 1958”, etc. Two things to note is a baseball misdated 4/29 that is most likely attributed to his win on 6/24 and a baseball misdated 9/31 that is most likely attributed to his win on 9/31. There is no baseball from his June 11th win. The baseballs show signs of game-use and are accompanied by a Turley family LOA.
