Willie Mays may have been the most complete all around baseball player of all time. The ultimate five tool player is one of just four players to eclipse both 3,000 Hits and 500 Home Runs. For nineteen consecutive seasons, Mays' appearance in the Midsummer Classic was guaranteed, and offered here is a stunningly well preserved signature model bat issued to the first ballot Hall of Famer for use in the 1960 All-Star game held at Kansas City Municipal Stadium. Mays would go three for four in the National League's five to three victory and a home run short of hitting for the cycle. Manufacturer: Adirondack Model Number: M63A Labeling Period: 1960 Length: 35 inches Weight: 32 ounces Wood: Ash Finish: Flame Burned. The model number is stamped into the knob. Mays signed the barrel of the bat two times in black marker with the added inscriptions of “Say Hey Kid” and in our opinion the signature rate a combined 9. PSA/DNA states that “Of the two issued All-Star bats to each player, this was the Mays bat that stayed in the rack, as no ball marks are apparent on the barrel.” This bat is uncracked and game-ready. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA and an ALOA from JSA.
