The Amateur Athletic Union was founded in 1888 by William Buckingham Curtis to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sport. During its early years, the AAU served as a leader in international sport representing the United States in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. Inside the rear collar of this white fleece jacket is the “Lowe & Campbell” manufacturer’s tag. Attached is a flag tag with “46+2” Body” written in faded blue ink. At the left chest is the “AAU USA” embroidered patch. Player first name “MIKE” appears at the right chest in blue on red tackle twill. Across the back is “U.S.A.” in the same blue on red tackle twill. The jacket is properly tagged, was presented to us as worn and in our opinion, shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from Mike Moran. Aesthetically gorgeous.
