Waner was a 4-time All-Star, 3-time NL Batting Champion, NL MVP and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1952. On the front left tail of the jersey is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with size “38” and wash instructions. Adjacent below is a grey felt strip tag with the year “1960” in navy blue chain-stitching. On the inner rear collar is another grey felt strip tag with the name “E. Keegan” in navy blue chain-stitching. Across the front reads “Phillies”. Across the back is the player number “50”. All lettering and numbering is done in the same red chain-stitch embroidery on white felt. Waner has signed the front left tail of the jersey in black marker, in our opinion the signature rates an 8. On the inner front right waistband of the pants is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent below is a white strip tag with wash instructions. Adjacent to the right is a grey strip felt strip tag with the name “E. Keegan 1960” in navy blue chain-stitching. Waner has signed the inner rear waistband in black marker, in our opinion the signature rates a 6. On the inner rear sweatband of the cap is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent to the right is the size “6?” stamped in black. On the front of the cap is the Phillies “P” embroidered in white. Waner has signed the underside of the brim in black marker, in our opinion the signature rates an almost perfect 10. The uniform ensemble is properly tagged, was presented to us as instructor-worn and in our opinion shows tremendous wear with extensive deterioration. These items were obtained from Waner’s wife who said they were worn by Paul Waner.
