William Felton Russell gave a new meaning to the word defense. Shaquille O'Neal who is arguably the most dominant center in the game today averages 12.1 rebounds per game. Bill Russell amassed a career total of 21,620 rebounds, averaging a ludicrous 22.5 rebounds per game. Russell was the pinnacle to the Boston Celtics dynasty in the 1960s. He has almost every rebounding record in the games history. This rebounding machine in one game had 51 rebounds, and 49 two other times. Russell was five time NBA MVP, a twelve time All-Star, and eleven time NBA champion. Inside the back right tail of this magnificent 1962 red All-Star game jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with jersey size "44" on it. Attached is a tag with wash instructions. Across the front of the jersey is "EAST." Below that and on the back is the player number "6." Circling the lettering on the front are seven white stars. All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. Inside the back of the waistband is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with short size " 38" on it. Attached is a tag with wash instructions. Each side of the shorts is lined with three red stars. The uniform shows game-use, and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
