Gil Hodges was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 2021. On the front left tail is the Spalding manufacturer’s tag with an adjacent box tag reading the size “44”. Below is a tag with washing instructions with an attached flag tag reading “SET 1 1967”. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag reading “44 67 44”. Hodges rejoined the Mets as their manager at the start of the 1968 season and was reassigned his familiar “14” number. Across the chest reads “Mets”. The manager number “14” appears below and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue felt on orange tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a Mets team logo disc patch. The original number which read “44” on the front and back has been changed to feature Hodges “14”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager-worn and shows wear.
