Red Schoendienst managed the Cardinals from 1965 through 1976, the second-longest managerial tenure in the team's history. Under his direction, St. Louis won the 1967 and 1968 National League pennants and the 1967 World Series. Schoendienst was named National League Manager of the Year in both '67 and '68 and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. On the left front tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag WITH SIZE “46”. Adjacent is “Schoendienst 68” embroidered in red chain stitch as well as a wash instructions tag with a “SET 1 1968” flag tag attached. Across the front is "Cardinals on a Bat" logo done in gold and red chain stitch with a blue chain stitch embroidered border. On both the front and back is number “2”. Across the back is the manager’s name “SCHOENDIENST”. All numbers and letters are done in red on navy blue felt. Schoendienst has signed the front in black marker adding the inscription “1968 Gamer” rating a 7 with light bleeding. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager’s worn and in our opinion, shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA. Absolute pristine, all original condition.
