Nate “The Snake” Bowman played five seasons in the National Basketball Association and won an NBA Championship with the Knicks in 1970. Bowman wore this jersey in Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. In the series clinching game 7 Bowman scored 6 points and added 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. Willis Reed suffered a severe thigh injury in Game 5, a torn muscle that kept him out of Game 6 and he was considered unlikely to play in Game 7. Yet Reed surprised the fans by walking onto the court during warmups. Starting the game, Reed scored the Knicks' first two field goals on his first two shot attempts, his only points of the game. Due to the injury Bowman was inserted for additional minutes and the task of guarding Wilt Chamberlain. Matched up against Chamberlain, Bowman also recorded 5 personal fouls in the contest trying to stop him. On the front left tail is the "Gerry Cosby" manufacturers tag. Attached is a box tag reading the size “48”. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK". Adjacent below and on the back is the player number "17". These are done in orange on blue tackle twill. Across the back is "BOWMAN" in blue tackle twill. Bowman played as Willis Reed's backup. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match.
