After retirement from play, Williams served as manager of the Washington Senators, continuing with the team when they became the Texas Rangers after the 1971 season. Williams's best season as a manager was 1969 when he led the expansion Senators to an 86-76 record in their only winning season in Washington. He was chosen manager of the year after that season. In the back waistband of these light blue flannel pants is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag. To the right of this tag is "9-1970-P65-28"-41W" embroidered in the waistband. These pants were recycled after Mr. Williams wore them by Walt Masterson in 1972. The pants show wear and appear to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA describing the history of the pants.
