The Emmy Awards are television production awards and are considered the TV equivalent of the Oscars. This local regional Emmy measures 11" tall and is a statuette depicting a winged woman holding an atom, originally designed by television engineer Louis McManus, using his wife as a model. Presented by The National Academy Of Television Arts And Sciences (one of three awarding bodies, in relief on the base), front plaque reads in part "1976-1977 New York Area Awards, Outstanding Individual Craft...5:00 P.M. NewsCenter 4 - WNBC-TV" with the names of the winners. Overall EXMT condition with light tarnishing.
