Steve Carlton played from 1965 to 1988 and retired as one of the most successful pitchers to ever play the game. He was affectionately known to Philadelphia fans as "Lefty". Carlton has the second-most lifetime strikeouts of any left-handed pitcher (4th overall), and the second-most lifetime wins of any left-handed pitcher (11th overall). He was the first pitcher to win four Cy Young Awards in a career. On the left front tail of this home zippered front jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturer's size 46 tag. Below that is a strip tag with "46 76 Set 1" embroidered on it. On the inside back collar is a strip tag with "Carlton" embroidered on it. On the left breast of the jersey is the Phillies "P" logo. On the right breast and on the back is the player number "32". Across the back is "CARLTON" on a white name plate. All lettering and numbering is done in burgundy tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the embroidered official "1976 Philadelphia" logo patch. On the right sleeve is the "National League Centennial" patch. The nameplate on the back of the jersey has been restored. Also the patches on the jersey have been restored. The jersey shows incredible game use and besides the restorations appears to have no alterations of any kind.
