During a 20-year career, Tom Seaver compiled 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts, 61 shutouts and a 2.86 ERA. In 1992, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the highest percentage ever recorded at the time (98.84%). Inside the rear left tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “46” with washing instructions. The number “1” is written on this tag in red. Across the chest reads “CINCINNATI”. The player number “41” appears below and on the back and across the back is the player name “SEAVER”. All numbering and lettering is done in red tackle twill sewn directly into the jersey. Seaver signed inside the rear collar in blue marker and in our opinion rates an 8. This jersey is sans a year tag with an atypical style of Wilson tag likely from a midseason order as he was traded to the Reds during the 1977 season after 13 appearances with the Mets. The faded red 1 is written in thick marker likely signifies a set designation, a common trait of Reds jerseys in this era. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
