HOFer, “Pistol” Pete Maravich is one of those legends that you just had to be there for. He is both a College and Naismith Memorial Basketball HOFer. His long standing collegiate scoring record is even more incredible when you consider these three factors - 1. NCAA rules prohibited him from taking part in varsity competition during his first year as a student. 2. There was no three-point line when he played. It has been reported that former LSU coach Dale Brown charted every shot Maravich scored and concluded that, if his shots from three-point range had been counted as three points, Maravich’s average would have totaled 57 points per game and 12 three-pointers per game. 3. The shot clock had also not yet been instituted, which decreases pace of play and overall scoring. During the season this white mesh jersey was worn, Pete averaged 22.6 points per game and earned his fifth and final All-Star appearance. Inside the back right tail is the Champion manufacturer’s label with size (LARGE) and another blank or faded tag below it. Team name/logo (JAZZ) is screened across the front in purple, with the J being a multicolor “music note”. Player number (7) is screened in purple below that and on the back. The name on the back has been removed, with the outline faintly visible. Under UV light the outline of "MARAVICH" glows in the perfect matching font and arch for the era. The NOB was removed due to the fact that the team had a tight budget therefore most of the jerseys had NOB removed/stripped at the end of the season to be repurposed for the following seasons. This is the first Champion manufactured Maravich that we have handled making it quite rare. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear. Accompanied by a detailed LOA from PM&G grading the jersey an 8 which cites the "MARAVICH" ultraviolet light analysis.
